There is a dispute between the Rambam and the Ramban’s Castilian school about the role of qorbanos. In his introduction to the book of Vayiqra, haRav Meir Simcha haKohein miDvinsk accepts both positions, saying that the Rambam’s position is true of sacrifices on bamos (house altars in the “high places” permitted only until the first Beis haMiqdash was established), whereas the Ramban’s is more central to the role of sacrifices in the Beis haMiqdash itself.
